Kulim Hi-Tech Park received more good news when Koperasi Tunas Muda Sungai Ara Berhad (KTMSAB) has firmed up their decision to take up a 17.9 acre prime land to develop a multi-modern commercial development that includes a hotel and a shopping complex at a gross development cost of about RM160 million over a 6-year period. The development site is bordered by the busy Lebuhraya Perdana and the newly-completed KHTP Sports Complex.
The decision to proceed with this development is timely given the existing plans to expand Kulim Hi-Tech Park by Kulim Technology Park Corporation Sdn Bhd, as well as the presence of an astute 85-point programmes by the Kedah Government to transform the surrounding Kulim area into a greater economic region.
The Signing of Lease Agreement for the subject land was held on 22 December 2015 between Kulim Technology Park Corporation Sdn Bhd (KTPC) represented by Dato’ Dr. Annuar Mohd Saffar, President of KTPC; and Dato’ Ir. Mansor bin Musa, Chairman, KTMSAB at the latter’s Headquarters in Penang.
Also present to witness the simple yet significant milestone event were the senior executives of KTPC as well as the board of directors of KTMSAB.

Kulim Technology Park Corporation Sdn Bhd (KTPC), in collaboration with Multimedia Development Corporation, has again successfully organized the “Android Application Development 2015” workshop at Kulim Hi-Tech Park. This workshop has attracted 23 participants from various sectors and companies.
The 5-day event, held from 23 to 27 November 2015, featured an interactive workshop by Mr Fakhrul Razi, a MDEC-recognised content expert trainer from NIM Consult Sdn Bhd. This short program taught participants on how to build their Android app through learning as well as on how to create Android project including building a simple user interface and handling the user input. The event concluded with the presentation of certificates of participation to all participants by Mr Khairul Fithri Osman, Vice President (Operations), KTPC.

Construction of new LED plant in Kulim begins in March
ALOR SETAR: German firm Osram will start its one-billion-euro (RM4.67bil) plant operations at the Kulim Hi-Tech Park (KHTP) by the end of 2017.
The new light-emitting diode (LED) chip plant in Kulim, Kedah, will be located on the Phase One plot of KHTP, measuring 9.7 hectares.
Osram Opto Semiconductors (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd managing director Dr Roland Mueller said construction was slated to kick off in March next year.

YAB Dato’ Seri Hj Mukhriz Tun Mahathir dalam sidang media beliau ketika menerima kunjungan hormat dari Managing Director OSRAM Dr. Roland Muller. memaklumkan bahawa Kedah jamin akan memberi sokongan padu kepada syarikat OSRAM yang akan membuat pelaburan 1 Bilion Euro di Kulim Hi Tech Park (KHTP) tidak lama lagi.
Dalam perbincangan Dr. Roland Muller bersama YAB DS Mukhriz, beliau menjelaskan bahawa OSRAM yang berasal dari Munich, Jerman berminat untuk melabur di Kulim Hitech Park kerana kawasan berkenaan mempunyai segala sumber yang diperlukan.
Infra yang bagus, senang mendapat barang mentah dan lokasinya teratur untuk mereka membuka kilang disana.
YAB Dato Seri Hj Mukhriz Mahathir juga mengambil kesempatan dengan berterima kasih kerana OSRAM memilih Kedah untuk membuka kilangnya.
Ini merupakan pelaburan syarikat antarabangsa paling besar di Malaysia pada tahun ini.
